Message, Inspiration, Chalk, Bulletin, and Magnet Boards

I finally finished my magnet board. I purchased the frame at my local Home Goods store and my husband bought a sheet of metal from Hope Depot which he cut down to fit inside the frame. Before putting the metal into the frame I covered in silk. I've only just started using it, but I'm sure it won't be long before it's completely covered with magazine clippings, fabric swatches, and other odds and ends.

Okay, so these next few obviously aren't boards, but I still wanted to show this neat idea for a clothesline inspiration "board".

These chalkboards were made from vintage mirrors. How cute!

Clipboards as inspiration boards. Simple and probably pretty inexpensive.

The Bella Cottage sells clipboards that would be perfect to use as inspiration boards, or you could make your own using clipboards from an office supply store and scrapbook paper from a craft store.

I love the idea of taking an old pic frame and adding chalkboard paint. I bought some paint and would like to do this for my entry, but can't think of a way to make it look more elegant. I'd like to welcome people according to season, like Christmas (joyeux noel..) in colored chalk.

I just happened upon your blog and am so thankful for the roundup of chalkboard/magnetic inspiration boards. I am trying to reinvent a small office into a creative space - these suggestions go a long way. If you have any site specific tips for me based upon your findings, let me know.
