Look-a-Likes for Less: Crib Bedding

I wish they'd had this Bananafish crib bedding at Target back when I was getting Peanut's nursery ready. I loved the crib bedding sold by Serena & Lily, but couldn't justify spending that much money on something that the baby would eventually get messy one way or another; so instead I mixed & matched a two different styles on Pottery Barn Kids crib bedding to get the look I wanted. However, I think the Bananafish Lily crib bedding looks something like a mix of the Kate and Lucy crib bedding available at Serena & Lily with the pink and green color combination, updated damask pattern, and striped crib skirt.

Bananafish Lily Crib Bedding Collection $14.99-$49.99 at Target.

Look-a-Likes for Less: Retro Kid's Kitchen

Now that we've moved into the house I think I might turn the front living room into Peanut's playroom. She's still too young for a play kitchen just yet, but I started looking at them online anyway feeling very nostalgic remembering the kitchen I had in my playroom when I was younger (much much younger). I liked the retro look of the kitchen at Pottery Barn Kids and then later I found a very similar retro style kitchen from KidKraft on the Target website (which I eventually found for even less on the Walmart website). While the Pottery Barn Kids version is a little more sleek and has a few more "bells and whistles" than the KidKraft version I think it's a pretty decent alternative with a $339 savings.

Our New Neighbors and Progress Painting the Kitchen

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we moved out of our apartment and into a house at the end of May. Since then we've been visited by a few furry and feathered neighbors:

Last night my husband stayed up late, or I suppose early since he didn't go to bed until after midnight, painting the ceiling in the kitchen. Tonight we're priming the kitchen walls. Then we'll be painting the walls Behr Melted Butter. Hopefully, the kitchen will be usable again by this weekend.
